I have recently aquired a 77 Arctic Cat Cheetah. It has been neglected for a number of years. I got it running...for a day. Now i get periodic spark and occasional readings on the voltage tester. I am guessing it has to do with the wiring, though i am not an electrician, (the USN wouldn't let me be one because i am colorblind), but i think i have it narrowed down to the ignition.
My question is: How do i replace the ignition (key) and know where the wires go? The switch on there now doesn't have any markings and the switch i have is not exactly the same. Is there a schematic of it somewhere, or some way to figure it out?
I would also be interested in finding a few parts: a dash board, a seat and the side panels (below the dash). They are all broken. |

I'm not that familier with Arctic Cat's...that's the only sled we don't have anything for. Was that points & condenser ignition or CDI?
For a wiring diagram, try Glen Mallory GMALLORY1@stny.rr.com ...he's on the Vintage Sleds Forum (gbarchives) quite often & knows Arctic cat sleds very well. That's probably the only way to really know what you have there if you want to get it back to original.
Glen may also know about parts...also try www.orps.ca for Arctic Cat parts....good luck |
